Display and Build
Tecno Camon C9 features a 5.5" FHD IPS touchscreen with a resolution of 1920*1080 pixels and pixel density of 267 PPI. Serving as a protection on this display is a corning gorilla glass 3 that offers enhanced scratch resistance, reduced scratch visibility and a better retained strength. A tougher screen is a good thing especially for those with butter fingers since this device can survive more falls, impacts, and hits before it cracks. Also on its display, on-screen navigation keys that were found on the Camon C8 have been replaced with capacitive soft keys.
The Camon C9s ultra slim body is made of metal with a leather textured back cover. It has a dimension of 153 x 76.4 x 10.35mm. This build makes it slimmer and lighter than the Camon C8, hence it is easier to hold, carry about and slide into a pocket. It comes in various colour options of champagne gold, sandstone black and pearl white, giving users an opportunity to choose between several colours.
Like the Phantom 5, the Camon C9 has a fingerprint recognition sensor that is embedded below its rear camera. This fingerprint sensor is said to have a fast response time and false rejection rate that exceeds that of some high end devices, with little or no error margin.
Processor, Hardware and OS
The Tecno Camon C9 is powered by a 64 bit MediaTek MT6592 Octa-core processor which splits the work between four-cores that will perform advanced work using more power and another four cores that will perform menial tasks that require less power. With this processor, more work can be done by the processor without draining the phones battery at a faster pace. The processor, its processing speed and software have been designed in a way that will allow the Camon C9 deliver a high level of performance.
