With the release of impressive devices featuring high-end specs, Huawei has sparked the interest of more smartphone users around the world in their phones, and has set a pace for other smartphone manufacturers. One of such devices would be the Huawei GR5, a midrange android smartphone built to give great performance, satisfying user experience and offered at an extremely competitive price.

When compared to other more expensive Huawei devices, this one uses less metal but still has a premuim feel and an attractive look. The GR5 has a dimension of 151.3 x 76.3 x 8.15 mm, weight of 158 g and is available in different colour options of Gold, Silver and Gray. It also comes with a fast and smart fingerprint scanner which is positioned at its rear, giving the device a biometric security.

According to Huawei, the GR5 has been designed for quality, to impress and always be the iconic fashion statement. Looking at its sleek design, specs and features, I can confirm this for a fact. The overall display, color reproduction, as well as its wide viewing angles are good, but its EMUI 3.1 might be a cause of concern since its far from pretty.

Although I do like a device with a removable battery which makes it possible to pull out the battery if in any case the phone hangs or lags, for this device, I wouldnt make a removable battery a major factor in choosing the phone. The Huawei GR5 specs makes up for this, its high price and could also make it one of the best selling smartphones 2016 in its price range.
